This section describes the specific efforts applied to SVR_137, The Story of Computer Graphics
• Script
- Acquire the script from Carl Machover. The script was optically scanned and converted to electronic text. The goal was to place the content into format that would allow it to be imported into DVD Studio Pro 3 or 4. The task of creating timecode associated with specific text by simple editing methods seemed quite daunting. So I designed and wrote a program that allowed me to connect sections of text with a specific timecode for the video. The programmed is called VSEP - Video Subtitle Editor Program. After the text was converted to timecode, it was successfully imported into the SVR_137 DVD Studio Pro project.
• Spanish Timecode
- I was sent a copy of subtitle text in Spanish. The timecode was accurate, but off by a few seconds. VSEP was deployed to modify the entire timecode set to start at the proper time in the video. The Spanish timecode was subsequently imported into the SVR_136 DVD Studio Pro project.
